LeBron James Says 76ers Need to Put Egos Aside to Win NBA Title, 'Shouldn't Be No Misunderstanding'

LeBron James detailed the approach that he believes the Philadelphia 76ers need to take in order to win a championship during the 2026-27 season.

"One, it needs to be, 'What is our mission? What is our day-to-day mission? Are we bringing our personal egos to the table for the collective group, or are we bringing our egos to the table for the collective individual?' Because obviously we've all gotten to this point of our career for a reason, we're all who we are for a reason," James said Thursday on his Mind the Game podcast (39:30 mark). "But if we're coming together for one common goal, now if things happen and transpire we can look each other in the eye and say, 'This is how we said we was gonna go about it.' That's accountability."

"I am super intrigued and I'm looking forward to actually getting in the locker room, getting into the film room, getting into practice, listening, dissecting and letting it just go through my database on how I can implement myself," he added.

The 76ers enter next season with high expectations after adding James and Jaylen Brown to a starting lineup that already features Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe.
