Ben Simmons Teases 'The Truth' Behind 76ers Fallout, More in Teaser Video for ESPN Special

ESPN released a teaser Thursday for an upcoming E60 episode about veteran NBA guard Ben Simmons entitled "Being Ben."

In a video posted Thursday on X, Simmons was asked when he knew that his time with the Philadelphia 76ers was "going in the wrong direction," and Simmons responded by asking, "The truth?"

Marc J. Spears of ESPN's Andscape, who worked with Simmons on the E60 episode, took to X to write, "Been amazing to work on this E60. Ben Simmons has been very wide open throughout the whole process. Look forward to it making its debut."

Selected first overall out of LSU by the Sixers in the 2016 NBA draft, Simmons entered the league with a ton of fanfare.

The Aussie enjoyed early success as well, winning NBA Rookie of the Year honors in 2018, and getting selected to the All-Star Game three consecutive seasons from 2019 to 2021, while also earning two nods to the NBA All-Defensive First Team.

However, after he and the top-seeded 76ers disappointed in the playoffs in 2021 by getting knocked out by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round, Simmons was traded to the Brooklyn Nets.

Injuries plagued Simmons over the course of the next several seasons, as he appeared in a total of just 108 regular-season games from 2021 to 2025.

After sitting out last season, Simmons signed with the Sacramento Kings this month, and he is poised to make his NBA comeback during the 2026-27 campaign.

The "Being Ben" E60 episode is scheduled to debut Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN.
