Malik Nabers Injured, Latest Updates on Giants WR After Popping Shoulder Back in vs. Rams
Monday's 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams was just one of the New York Giants' concerns in Week 2, as quarterback Jaxson Dart (knee) and Malik Nabers (shoulder) suffered injuries.
The latter returned, though, and he told reporters after the game he popped his shoulder back into place but will still get X-rays to see the extent of the damage.
"My shoulder's okay," Nabers said. "Gonna get an X-ray on it, see what's going on. I was out there, trying to just come back out. We had lost Jax, so I didn't want to give the team another loss."
The wide receiver missed time in the first half but returned to the contest and finished with one catch for one yard.
It was a far cry from Week 1 when Nabers tallied six catches for 69 yards in a victory over the division-rival Dallas Cowboys in his first game back since September 2025 due to a torn ACL that limited him to four games last season.
His health was a major focal point for the Giants coming into the season because of that 2025 setback, although Monday's injury was an upper-body one and not the knee.
When healthy, Nabers can be one of the best receivers in the league. After all, it wasn't long ago that he was a Pro Bowler as a rookie in 2024 with 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns.
He isn't the only concern for the Giants, as ESPN's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Dart is believed to have suffered a sprained MCL and is expected to miss time even though X-rays were negative.
"We'll know more [Tuesday]," head coach John Harbaugh said. "That's in the neighborhood of it. We'll get an MRI [Tuesday] and have a real good feel for it."
New York will likely rely on Jameis Winston when Dart is out, and his job will be much easier if Nabers is available. If not, Darnell Mooney and Isaiah Likely will surely see more targets in the Giants' Week 3 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
