Jonathan Kuminga Hypes LaMelo Ball as Best Passer He's Played with Despite Curry, CP3 Pairings

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Jonathan Kuminga teamed up with a couple legendary point guards in Stephen Curry and Chris Paul during his time with the Golden State Warriors, and he'll now play with another talented floor general in LaMelo Ball.

On Thursday, during his introductory press conference, Kuminga raved about Ball's abilities, saying no one he's played with has been such a good passer.

Kuminga landed in Minnesota on a two-year, $12.4 million contract. He'll play a key role on a Timberwolves team that made major changes this year, chief among them being the addition of Ball via trade from the Charlotte Hornets. Kuminga will also absorb minutes at forward vacated by Julius Randle, who has been traded to the Brooklyn Nets.

Clearly, Kuminga already has great respect for his new point guard, considering his glowing compliments.

He shared the court with Paul during the 2023-24 season, when the 21-year veteran and future Hall of Famer made a one-year stop with the Warriors. CP3's 12,552 assists rank second all time.

Kuminga also played with Curry for nearly five seasons before he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks. Curry, more than a historic three-point shooter, has been a terrific passer in his own right over his 17-year career with 6,743 dimes, which ranks 27th all time.

Ball, who has been a human highlight reel at times over his six-year NBA career, holds career averages of 20.8 points and 7.3 assists per game. Minnesota is clearly hoping the Ball addition finally vaults the team back into Finals contention after the Wolves have been knocking on the door for a few years.
