Jalen Brunson Reveals Knicks' Mindset in New Video After Winning 2026 NBA Title

New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson detailed the team's mindset moving forward after winning the 2026 NBA Finals.

"We don't want to speak of the trophy, we don't want to talk about the trophy, we don't want to see the trophy," Brunson said during a Tuesday appearance on the Road Trippin' Show. "We want to come in with the same mindset if not even tougher mindset we had last year."

The Knicks used a "0-0" mentality throughout their 2026 playoff run, entering every postseason game as if it were the beginning of the series without paying attention to whether they were leading or trailing.

The approach worked, as New York went 16-3 in the playoffs before ending the organization's 53-year championship drought. The Knicks outscored their opponents by 283 points in the postseason, representing the greatest playoff point differential in NBA history.

Brunson was stellar throughout New York's postseason run, ranking No. 1 in the NBA by averaging 28.4 points per game in the playoffs.

He also earned Finals MVP honors by averaging 32.6 points, 4.6 assists and 2.0 steals per game on 42.1/38.9/86.0 shooting splits during the team's five-game series victory over the San Antonio Spurs to capture the Larry O'Brien Trophy.

As the Knicks prepare to enter the 2026-27 season as defending champions, they won't be dwelling on their recent title.
