Chase Claypool Among WRs to Work Out for Saints After Jordyn Tyson Injury Ahead of 2026 NFL Season
The New Orleans Saints are exploring all their options after losing wide receiver Jordyn Tyson to a hamstring injury.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the team hosted Chase Claypool and Josh Reynolds for workouts on Tuesday.
Claypool, a second-round pick in 2020, hasn't seen any NFL action since the 2023 campaign. He spent the first three years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers before stints with the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins.
He joined the Buffalo Bills ahead of the 2024 campaign but was released after an injury in training camp.
After failing to return during the 2024 season, Claypool announced last July that he was hoping to make an NFL comeback but went unsigned during the 2025 season.
In 58 games, he's recorded 2,261 yards and 13 touchdowns. He had back-to-back seasons with 800-plus yards in his first two years but never panned out after that.
Along with the Saints, Claypool worked out with the Green Bay Packers in May.
Reynolds, a fourth-round pick in 2017 by the Los Angeles Rams, spent last season with the New York Jets but appeared in just five games, recording 101 yards on 11 receptions. He ended the season on the injured reserve with a hip injury.
He's been a journeyman throughout his career, playing for the Rams, Tennessee Titans, Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars and the Jets.
If the Saints decide to add another receiver, it will seemingly be just to pick up some temporary depth as Tyson works his way back from injury. Tyson, who has been tremendous in camp ahead of his rookie year, is set to miss around two months with the hamstring injury.
