Jordyn Tyson Injury Update and Timeline Revealed in New Saints Rumors amid Fantasy Football Drafts

Timothy RappAug 17, 2026

The New Orleans Saints were dealt a huge injury blow on Monday.

According to Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, rookie wideout Jordyn Tyson is expected to miss around two months due to a hamstring issue:

If Tyson is placed on injured reserve, he would be required to miss four games at minimum.

One of the concerns with Tyson during the pre-draft process was a history of injuries and durability issues during his college career. That included missing time due to a knee issue in 2022, collarbone injury in 2024 and hamstring issues in 2025. While he played 12 games in 2024, he only played a combined 21 games between the 2022, 2023 and 2025 seasons.

The talent is unmistakable, however. In 2024 he caught 75 passes for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns and followed that up last season by registering 61 receptions for 711 yards and eight scores in just nine games.

The 22-year-old suffered his latest injury during Thursday's joint practice session with the Jacksonville Jaguars on what head coach Kellen Moore suggested was more of a fluke accident that symptomatic of structural issues.

"I think my understanding of this one, any player that was put in his situation where your foot slips and you get shoved from behind, this has nothing to do with Jordyn's history," he told reporters. "This is, any player in that situation probably has the same diagnosis coming out of it. We'll know more here in the next few days. Let all the experts, you know, go through that process and make a good decision on what the plan of action moving forward will be."

Now, it sounds the plan of action will be a long period on the sidelines, a rough scenario for a Saints team that prioritized adding more weapons in the offseason.

"Jordyn's had a great camp, he's played really good football," Moore told reporters. "Inevitably, this is the unfortunate part of what preseason and training camp football is. Obviously, we've had a few of these guys have something come up. Jordyn's done a great job, he'll continue to do a great job. We'll be fine and get through this."
