Anthony Edwards Says He's a Better Dunker Than Michael Jordan, Ja Morant in New Video

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards doesn't consider himself the best dunker in NBA history, but he does put himself above a few notable names.

Asked to stack himself up against some high flyers past and present, Edwards suggested he's superior to Hall of Famer Michael Jordan and two-time All-Star Ja Morant:

Jordan was No. 2 behind Vince Carter on Bleacher Report's recent list of the 50 greatest dunkers.

The popular conception around MJ is formed mostly from his appearances in the Slam Dunk Contest. That's where he famously leapt from the free-throw line and created one of the enduring images of his career.

Morant and Edwards are 17th and 18th, respectively, in B/R's rankings. Both have built their reputations in competitive games as neither has entered the dunk contest.

That's unlikely to change when the dunk contest has generally fallen in stature compared to MJ's era.

It's impossible to reach a consensus on a dunking hierarchy because there's no definitive metric to assess a player's resume.

Edwards is at least on a path to be one of the best from his era. Putting him above Jordan is a harder sell.
