Suns' Dillon Brooks Reacts to Playing LeBron James on 76ers Star's Birthday as Part of NBA Schedule

Phoenix Suns star Dillon Brooks says he's "excited" to play the visiting Philadelphia 76ers on LeBron James' 42nd birthday.

"That's more ammunition for me to win that game, but should be fun," Brooks said when asked Friday about the Dec. 30 matchup between the Sixers and Suns (h/t ClutchPoints' Hayden Cilley).

Brooks and James have a history of trash-talking one another during games, most recently clashing last December during a Los Angeles Lakers comeback win over the Suns.

The two will have fewer opportunities for rivalry matchups this season now that James is with the Sixers, who are scheduled to play the Suns just once more after the birthday matchup.

When asked if he was disappointed to be missing out on a regular matchup with James, Brooks answered, "No, I'm not at all."

"But it'll build up for the games that we play," Brooks said.

The upcoming matchup was confirmed Aug. 11 alongside the release of the NBA's full regular-season schedule. James is set to make his Sixers debut Oct. 20 against the defending champion New York Knicks.

Following the Wednesday, Dec. 30 game in Phoenix, the 76ers and Suns will meet once more on Wednesday, Feb. 17 in Philadelphia.
