The date of Jaylen Brown's return to his old stomping grounds was revealed as the 2026-27 NBA schedule released on Thursday.

Brown and the Philadelphia 76ers will travel to face the Boston Celtics in TD Garden on Jan. 21, 2027.

The five-time All-Star spent the first 10 seasons of his career in Boston before he was traded to Philadelphia on July 1. The Celtics received Paul George, two first-round draft picks and two second-round picks from the 76ers in exchange for Brown.

He ended his tenure in Boston with averages of 20.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 47.8 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from three-point territory. Brown helped the Celtics capture a championship in 2024, earning Finals MVP honors in the process.

He sits at No. 10 on the organization's all-time scoring list and holds the No. 7 spot on its all-time steals leaderboard.

While Brown admitted that he threw his phone across the room immediately after learning about the trade, he was grateful for his overall tenure in Boston.

"A lot of my most important years, my most developmental years as a young man, I spent in Boston," Brown said on Aug. 6, per Zack Cox of the Boston Herald.

"But I'm very grateful for my experience, my tenure in Boston," he added. "Ten years is a perfect cycle, a perfect number for completion. We won a championship, and I have nothing but respect for the city of Boston."

Brown is part of a new-look 76ers squad that has also brought in LeBron James alongside returning starters Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe.
