New Warriors Rumors on Potential Targets for Final Roster Spots in NBA Free Agency

The Golden State Warriors are looking at a few different veteran free agents to round out their roster as the 2026-27 season approaches, per NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer.

"Free agents who I'm told are drawing legitimate interest from Golden State for the Warriors' open roster spots: Georges Niang and Brandon Williams," Stein wrote.

"On his Bleacher Report livestream Tuesday afternoon, Jake also mentioned Dalen Terry as a potential Warriors target."

The 33-year-old Niang, a 6'6" power forward, has played nine NBA seasons (2016-2025) for five teams, including four with the Utah Jazz.

Niang suffered a fourth metatarsal stress reaction in his left foot in Sept. 2025 while he was a member of the Jazz and ultimately missed the 2025-26 season. He got traded to the Memphis Grizzlies on Feb. 3 and was waived two days later.

Niang played 79 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks during the 2024-25 regular season and averaged 9.9 points on 46.1 percent shooting (40.6 percent from three), 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists.

The 26-year-old Williams, a 6'1" guard, has played his last three seasons with the Dallas Mavericks. In 66 games (15 starts) last campaign, Williams averaged 13.0 points, 3.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per game. He's been an impressive success story after going undrafted in 2021 and finding his place in the league.

The 24-year-old Terry is entering his fourth NBA season. He played his first three-plus seasons with the Chicago Bulls before being traded, waived and signed with the 76ers for the end of last season. Terry averaged 3.7 points on 43.9 percent shooting, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists (11.5 minutes per game) in 48 contests last year.

The Warriors are trying to bounce back from a tough 37-45 season that ended with a loss to the Phoenix Suns in the final Western Conference play-in game.
