76ers Hype LeBron, Joel Embiid Duo with Photos Celebrating 2-Year Anniversary of USA's Olympic Gold

Monday marks the two-year anniversary of Team USA's gold medal victory in the Paris Olympics, and the Philadelphia 76ers paid homage to two of their stars.

The Sixers posted photos of star forward LeBron James and star center Joel Embiid celebrating as teammates for Team USA. The duo will now have more time together after James signed with Philadelphia in free agency.

Team USA won its fifth straight Olympic gold medal with a 98-87 victory over host nation France.

James was named Olympics MVP after averaging 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 8.5 assists on 66 percent shooting during the international showcase. In the gold medal game against France, he produced 14 points, six rebounds and 10 assists.

"I'm just living in the moment, super humble that I can still play this game and play it at a high level," James said at the time. "It came with us winning gold and that's what's more important for me. It's pretty cool."

Embiid had considered playing for France or his native Cameroon before committing to Team USA in the Paris Olympics. Despite routinely being subjected to boos, he averaged 11.2 points and 3.8 rebounds, including a 19-point outing in a semifinal win over Serbia and rival Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets. Embiid said he wanted to win a gold medal for his son, who was born in the United States.

"After talking to my family, I knew it had to be Team USA. I want to play with my brothers in the league. I want to play for my fans because they've been incredible since the day I came here. But most of all, I want to honor my son who was born in the US. I want my boy to know I played my first Olympics for him," he said at the time.

Now, James and Embiid will try to achieve more success together as the Sixers look to contend for an NBA championship this season.
