Jaylen Brown's 76ers Introduction Date Reportedly Revealed After Celtics Trade in NBA Free Agency

The Philadelphia 76ers will introduce Jaylen Brown officially on Thursday, according to a report from Jason Dumas of 6ABC Action News.

The Sixers acquired the superstar wing in July from the Boston Celtics for Paul George, a pair of first-round picks and a pair of second-rounders in a deal that stunned the NBA world.

It's been a transformational offseason for the Sixers.

In most years, Brown's trade would have been the signature move of the offseason in Philadelphia. But he was soon joined by LeBron James, who chose to sign with the Sixers over the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat, his former teams.

The Sixers also drafted guard Labaron Philon and signed Dean Wade, Anfernee Simons, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ariel Hukporti in free agency. It was quite the opening act for new president of basketball operations Mike Gansey and executive vice president of basketball operations Jameer Nelson.

There are questions about what roles the team's multiple superstars will play, given that James, Brown, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey are all All-NBA talents and V.J. Edgecombe is one of the NBA's up-and-coming young stars.

Sacrifices will be needed. James will likely settle into more of a playmaking role, facilitating the offense. Maxey thrived playing off the ball next to James Harden, so that adjustment should be manageable from his perspective.

Brown was the main man in Boston last season, with Jayson Tatum injured for much of the campaign, though he previously won a title as the No. 2 option. Embiid shifted to more of a perimeter role earlier in his career to help complement Ben Simmons and his lack of a jumper, and the star center likely will miss a large chunk of games anyway to manage his health.

In other words, the Sixers stars have shown an ability to be adaptable in the past.

On pure talent alone, Philly is absolutely a title contender. It may take time to fully figure out the fit, but if it works as intended, Brown and the Sixers are going to be an absolute buzzsaw.
