VJ Edgecombe Reveals Reaction to LeBron Joining 76ers and Playing with Jaylen Brown in New Video

When star forward LeBron James announced that he was signing with the Philadelphia 76ers, second-year guard VJ Edgecombe was already preparing for next season.

Edgecombe told Nice Kicks that he learned James was joining the Sixers in the middle of a workout.

"I was working out, so I was on the court," he said. "One of the coaches had on an Apple Watch, and it kept going off and off, so he stopped and looked at it. He was like, 'Yo, we just got 'Bron.' I'm like, 'Hold on,' and I stopped mid-workout. I had to go check my workout to see if it was real. And then I went and finished my workout, and then I posted that picture."

Edgecombe is coming off an impressive rookie season, finishing with averages of 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.4 steals across 75 games. He earned a spot on the All-Rookie First Team and finished third in the voting for Rookie of the Year.

After James signed with Philadelphia, ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reported that two Sixers sources "pointed out the potential disruption to the development" of Edgecombe. However, the 21-year-old made it clear that he's looking forward to sharing the court with a star-studded lineup that now includes James, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

"Just to learn, man. To me, he's the greatest of all time," Edgecombe said. "Now we got him, JB, Joe, 'Rese, it's a squad. I'm just excited to learn."
