Draymond Green Rips Knicks' Josh Hart over Response to Jalen Brunson Paycut Comments

It's safe to say things have worked out for the New York Knicks after Jalen Brunson decided to take a paycut, but an old clip of Draymond Green criticizing that decision before the championship is making the rounds again after the Golden State Warriors forward responded to Josh Hart's recent comments.

In the video, Green says role players such as Hart should be the one taking the paycuts in New York and not the star like Brunson. He pointed out he was the one to take a cut with Golden State when Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson were each being paid big sums.

That drew a response from Hart, although well after the video initially aired:

Green then posted the following: "Dude waited 2 years to respond to that video from 520? Why not say it then? Let's normalize not front runnin and talking while you up. Be on the same type of time AT ALL TIMES!"

It is easy for the Knicks to talk now as the champions, and the timing of Hart bringing up such an old video was an issue for Green.

Still, to the victor go the spoils, and everything worked out according to plan for Brunson and the Knicks after the point guard took that paycut.

The front office built a loaded team around him that featured Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges and Hart, among others. As a result, the Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals to win their first championship since the 1973 campaign.

Green is plenty familiar with what it takes to win a title as a four-time champion himself with the Warriors, and it is clear he wishes Hart would have challenged his take before the Knicks were sitting atop the throne.
