Bam Adebayo Reveals NSFW Text to LeBron James After Star Chose 76ers over Heat in NBA Free Agency

Bam Adebayo has no hard feelings toward LeBron James after the King chose the Philadelphia 76ers over the Miami Heat this offseason, but the big man still wants to send a message on the court.

"Like I told him in the message, I'm going to bust his a--," Adebayo said Tuesday when discussing a text he sent James, per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. "So, it's going to be an exciting season. I'm excited for the East. We got a whole new turnaround in the East. So, it's going to be exciting this year."

James went with Philadelphia instead of the Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, among others. 

Choosing Miami or Cleveland would have been something of a full-circle moment for the future Hall of Famer seeing how he won championships in both cities during previous stops, and Golden State would have given him the chance to play alongside the other player who has largely defined an era of NBA history in Stephen Curry.

But the 76ers may be better positioned than all of them to compete for what would be James' fifth championship with a core of Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown and VJ Edgecombe in place.

"There ain't no disappointment," Adebayo said. "To me, you should always be happy for a person and their decision. He made a decision where he feels like it's his best situation to win. And I feel like I'm a good friend of LeBron's."

The Heat still made a headline acquisition of their own this offseason by landing another future Hall of Famer in Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Antetokounmpo and Adebayo pairing is one of the best in the league and part of an overall improvement in the Eastern Conference.

James and Brown went to Philadelphia, Antetokounmpo went to Miami, Tyrese Haliburton will return to the Indiana Pacers after his Achilles recovery, the Toronto Raptors could add Kawhi Leonard pending the results of a league investigation, the New York Knicks are the reigning champions, and even the Washington Wizards will have Anthony Davis and Trae Young combining with No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa.

Cleveland, Detroit and Boston could also remain contenders, which means the battle for coveted playoff positioning will take center stage all season.

That will only elevate the importance of the head-to-head games between contenders such as the 76ers and Heat, and Adebayo is ready to elevate his own level of play when he faces James and Co.
