Dwyane Wade Reveals Reaction to LeBron James Signing 76ers Contract After Heat Reunion Rumors

Dwyane Wade thinks his former teammate LeBron James could be setting himself up for life after basketball by signing with the Philadelphia 76ers.

"LeBron is never gonna do what you think he's gonna do," Wade said about James around the 29:36 mark of Saturday's episode of Post Moves with Candace Parker & Aliyah Boston. "So, I don't think none of us had Philly painted as the No. 1 team, but it's right on brand.

Wade continued: "For me, when I look at that, I look at that as, that's something bigger than— yes, they can compete for a championship, roster's incredible right now. And so, yeah, you get a chance to go ahead and get to that maybe five, six championships.

"But outside of that, I look at that as an after-basketball move as well. I feel like it's bigger than just the two years."

Wade and James' former teammate Chris Bosh previously pitched James on a return to the Heat.

James is instead headed to the Sixers after signing a two-year, $8 million deal with a player option, his agent Rich Paul told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Charania reported after the signing James could potentially live in New York or Jersey and commute into Philadelphia.

James confirmed the contract in a statement in which he wrote he believes he can "help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team."

"I'm not going for money. I'm not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point?" James wrote Friday. "I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship."

The Sixers will now hope bringing back Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey alongside former Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown will help this team contend for a title in what could be one of James' final NBA seasons.
