'I Respect It,' Eastern Conference Rival Reacts to LeBron James' 76ers Contract After NBA Rumors

LeBron James agreed to join the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, setting up a super team that will be difficult for anyone to stop.

Orlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr., who could very well see the Sixers in the playoffs, respects the move from the all-time great.

"S--t, they're trying to go get a championship," Carter told Yahoo Sports' Kelly Iko. "I respect it."

In a statement announcing his decision, James made it clear that he wanted to be on a team that was best equipped to win a championship this year.

"I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind," James said on social media. "I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship."

James will team up with the recently traded Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and a promising young player in VJ Edgecombe. With that kind of roster, anything other than a title would be a disappointment.

The last time James joined a team of this caliber, it led to a pair of titles with the Miami Heat. Now 41, James is hoping for similar results.
