New NBA Rumors on Cavs, Heat, Warriors' Potential Targets After LeBron James' 76ers Contract

With LeBron James no longer available in free agency, several teams will now turn their attention elsewhere.

ESPN's Shams Charania reported Friday that the Cleveland Cavaliers will look at players such as Jonathan Kuminga and former NBA forward Mario Hezonja. The Golden State Warriors are also a potential landing spot for Hezonja and are expected to focus on bringing back Draymond Green as well.

The Miami Heat are keeping an eye on veterans DeMar DeRozan and Bradley Beal after missing out on James, per Charania.

James signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.

While a return to Cleveland isn't an option anymore, the Cavs could pivot to Kuminga.

Although he struggled to carve out a consistent role on the Golden State Warriors before getting traded to the Atlanta Hawks last season, he's still just 23 years old and has 40 games of playoff experience under his belt.

As for Hezonja, he previously spent five years in the NBA with the Orlando Magic, New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers from 2015-20.

He averaged just 6.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game on 41.7/31.9/81.2 shooting splits across all three teams, but is looking to return to the association after earning MVP honors in Spain's Liga ACB last season.

Hezonja recorded 17.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from three-point territory with Real Madrid.

Green became a free agent and gave the Warriors more financial flexibility to pursue James after declining his $27.7 million player option for next season, but he appears to be on track to return to Golden State.

Meanwhile, Miami is seemingly interested in adding a veteran scorer alongside its new duo of Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

DeRozan remains a free agent after averaging 18.4 points and 4.1 assists per game on the Sacramento Kings last season.

Beal was limited to just six games during his 2025-26 campaign due to hip surgery, but the three-time All-Star could step into a complementary scoring role with the Heat.
