LeBron James' new contract with the Philadelphia 76ers has kept him on track to finish his NBA career as the highest-paid player in league history.
James is set to have received a record $585 million in career earnings by the end of the 2026-27 campaign, according to Spotrac.

James is signing a two-year, $8 million deal featuring a player option with the Sixers, his agent Rich Paul told ESPN's Shams Charania.
That deal is expected to include a veteran minimum salary of around $3.88 million for next season, according to Spotrac.
James earned $62 million during his first stint with the Cavaliers from 2003 to 2010, according to Spotrac's breakdown of his career earnings.
He pocketed another $64 million during his four seasons with the Miami Heat, then took home $107 million when returning for another four seasons with the Cavs.
James took home $348 million over his eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, including $550,000 from NBA Cup payouts.
He is set to earn significantly less during his stint in Philadelphia after signing on a veteran minimum deal in order to join a Sixers roster hard-capped at the first luxury tax apron.
The Sixers are about $572,000 above the first apron after signing James and will need to cut a player or complete a trade in order to get back in cap compliance, per ESPN's Bobby Marks.
James doesn't make the majority of his income through his NBA contracts, however.
Forbes reported in May James earned around $137 million last season, including $52.8 million in salary and an estimate $85 million in other earnings, to rank as the fourth-highest paid athlete in the world.
James is estimated by Forbes to have a real-time net worth of around $1.4 billion after earning an estimated pretax total of more than $1 billion off the court.
