Luka Doncic Updates Injury Status in Email to Lakers Fans Ahead of NBA Season
Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Dončić announced Monday that he's completely healthy heading into the 2026-27 season.
Dončić previously missed the Lakers' 2026 playoff run due to a Grade 2 left hamstring strain that he suffered on April 2.

ESPN's Dave McMenamin later reported that the six-time All-Star was cleared for basketball activities on May 28, just over two weeks after Los Angeles was eliminated by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round.
Dončić has struggled with availability in recent years, appearing in just 114 of a possible 164 regular-season contests over the past two years.
Still, he's remained one of the NBA's top offensive players when healthy.
During the 2025-26 season, Dončić earned the second scoring title of his career by averaging a league-leading 33.5 points per game. He also recorded 8.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals on a nightly basis while compiling 47.6/36.6/78.0 shooting splits.
The Lakers owned a 119.4 offensive rating with Dončić on the floor last season, which dropped to a 111.9 offensive rating with him off the court (via NBA.com).
Los Angeles has high expectations for its 2026-27 campaign, looking to clinch a fifth consecutive playoff berth.
