Watch Shaq's Dunkman World Championships as Top Athletes Compete for Record Prize Money
Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal's latest venture will highlight some of the greatest slam dunkers in the world.
O'Neal is now the commissioner of the Dunkman World Championships, the first professional league dedicated exclusively to competitive dunking. The league will debut on Tuesday with its first group-stage event, live on TNT and YouTube at 8 p.m. ET.

The athletes will compete in a structured season with four group-stage events, followed by the world championship on Aug. 25. The world champion will receive $500,000, the largest first prize in professional dunk history. A five-judge panel scores every dunk based on defined criteria, including execution, difficulty, originality, power and vertical ability.
There will be 24 dunkers competing for the grand prize to start the season, including five international competitors.
O'Neal attended Fanatics Fest in New York City this past weekend and spoke about how excited he is for the Dunkman debut:
