Paul Pierce Drops Wild Quote on LeBron & Celtics, Projects 'Best Fit' amid 76ers, Cavs, Heat Rumors
While most teams would roll out the red carpet for star free agent LeBron James, Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce feels that his former franchise doesn't need his services.
When asked by TMZ if he would like to see James sign with the Celtics, Pierce surprisingly dismissed the possibility completely.
"No, we don't want him on the Celtics," Pierce said.

Luckily for Pierce, it doesn't appear that Boston is in the running to land James. ESPN's Brian Windhorst recently reported that the 41-year-old "hates Boston," and he feels "Boston would rank 30th on his list." According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers are top contenders to sign James this summer.
Pierce told TMZ that he feels James should pursue a reunion with the Cavs as he nears the end of his legendary career.
"I think his best fit is Cleveland," Pierce said.
While the basketball world is in a holding pattern as James ponders his decision, Pierce added that his former rival has every right to take his time before announcing his next team.
"He can do whatever he wants at this stage," Pierce said. "His decision is his decision, man. I'm not holding my breath waiting on him to make a decision. Whatever decision he makes is gonna be the right one."
