Tyrese Haliburton Compares Jalen Brunson Rivalry to Reigns vs. Rollins After WWE Confrontation

Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton compared his rivalry with New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson to the current feud between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

Haliburton made his remarks on the Pat McAfee Show on Monday (1:53:30 mark).

"I'm very thankful for the WWE for continuing to allow me to show up and it was pretty cool because I think there's some parallels between what Seth and Roman got going on and what me and Jalen got going on too at the same time, so I thought it was pretty cool. I had a lot of fun with it."

"They won, give them their flowers. Congratulations to them."

Haliburton and Reigns just faced off against Brunson and Reigns at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. Haliburton talked trash to Brunson from the ramp, and Rollins used that distraction to attack Reigns from behind.

Eventually, Reigns gained the upper hand, as Brunson distracted Rollins enough for the Original Tribal Chief to Superman Punch Reigns and spear him before the evening arrived at a close.

Haliburton's Pacers beat Brunson's Knicks in the 2024 and 2025 playoffs. New York is now atop the NBA after winning the franchise's first championship in 53 years. Brunson led the way, winning NBA Finals MVP after capping the championship series with 45 points in Game 5.

Haliburton was out all of 2025-26 due to a torn Achilles tendon suffered in the 2025 NBA Finals, and he's certainly got eyes on the Knicks' title.

Meanwhile, in WWE, former Shield members in Reigns and Rollins are now fighting for the World Heavyweight Championship. Reigns is the current title holder and will defend the belt at SummerSlam in Minneapolis, which will host the two-night event on Saturday, Aug. 1 and Sunday, Aug. 2.
