Warriors' Yaxel Lendeborg Calls Out Cameron Boozer, Says 'Refs Be Saving Him' Every Game They Play

After leading the Golden State Warriors past the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA summer league championship game on Sunday, rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg feels like he finally got the last laugh over Grizzlies first-year big man Cameron Boozer.

Per ESPN's Ben Golliver, Lendeborg said after Sunday's 94-90 win over the Grizzlies that the victory provided a dose of revenge against Boozer, who led Duke past his Michigan squad in a high-profile matchup in February.

"I think about [revenge] every time I play [Boozer]," Lendeborg said. "Every game we play, them refs be saving him. … It is a competitive nature [with] everybody that gets drafted ahead of me."

Boozer, who was the No. 3 pick in this year's draft, led the Grizzlies with 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the loss. Lendeborg, the 11th pick, had 21 points and 10 rebounds as he led the Warriors to a fourth-quarter comeback on his way to earning MVP honors.

"I've got to find a way to assert myself more," Boozer said. "At the end, I got two great looks, but they didn't fall. … We lost, but this is why I love the game. It was high-intensity and back-and-forth."

It appears that Lendeborg and Boozer will remain rivals throughout their respective NBA careers, so it will be fun to see their matchups as they continue to develop in the league.
