Victor Wembanyama Booed by NYC Fans in Fanatics Fest Video After NBA Finals Loss to Knicks
It's been more than a month since the New York Knicks played the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, but fans in the Big Apple still have no love for Victor Wembanyama.
Wembanyama got a few cheers when he showed up to Fanatics Fest on Saturday, but it was mostly boos from the crowd in New York.
Wembanyama became public enemy No. 1 in New York when the Spurs and Knicks faced off in the Finals in June. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year averaged 26 points, 11.2 rebounds and 3.6 blocks per game during his first Finals, but New York still managed to take the series in five games.
Wembanyama, who is entering his fourth NBA season, has already established himself among the best players in the league, which means he's going to get hostile treatment from fans any time he goes to an opposing team's city.
That was certainly the case in New York on Saturday.
