Tom Brady Buys Fernando Mendoza's 1st NFL Autograph Card After Raiders No. 1 NFL Draft Pick
Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady says he purchased a rare Fernando Mendoza trading card during Fanatics Fest Friday in New York City.
Brady pulled a 1-of-1 autographed Mendoza card from his pocket from Topps' "My 1st NFL auto!" series featuring NFL players' first autographs since being drafted.
"There happens to be a first overall pick that plays for the Raiders, that I'm involved with, and today I found it, and I got it," Brady told the crowd. "I got the Fernando Mendoza's 'My first NFL auto' one-of-one."
Brady continued, "I know how hard he works. He's got a great family, and he's come to a great environment for success."
Brady, owner of the card retailing company CardVault by Tom Brady, has been minority owner of the Raiders since October 2024.
His active role with the team has included delivering advice to a quarterback room currently featuring Mendoza and veteran signal caller Kirk Cousins.
Brady could be hoping Cousins can serve as a mentor for Mendoza as the Raiders look to bounce back from the team's 3-14 finish to the 2025 season.
