Kevin Durant Gives His Take on LeBron James' Free Agency, Jaylen Brown's Trade to 76ers in Video
Houston Rockets superstar forward Kevin Durant gave his thoughts on some of the biggest happenings in the NBA Tuesday, including LeBron James' free agency decision and the Philadelphia 76ers' acquisition of Jaylen Brown.
Speaking to John Clark of NBC Philadelphia while attending the MLB All-Star Game in Philly, KD expressed his belief that whichever team lands LeBron will still be getting a high-end player despite the fact that he is entering his record 24th season:

"Wherever he goes, I know he's gonna ball out and still show that he's got a lot left in the tank at 42 years old," Durant said. "Any team is gonna be better because of him."
Last season, James averaged 20.9 points per game, marking his lowest scoring average since his rookie season, but that didn't tell the entire story.
He also averaged 7.2 assists, 6.1 rebounds, 1.3 three-pointers made and 1.2 steals per contest, while shooting 51.5 percent from the field.
Also, with Luka Dončić out due to injury, James was the driving force behind the Los Angeles Lakers beating the Rockets in the first round of the playoffs last season.
Durant noted that he has "no clue" where LeBron is going to land after informing the Lakers that he will play elsewhere next season, ending his eight-year run with the organization.
However, ESPN's Shams Charania (h/t ESPN's Dave McMenamin) reported Tuesday that the 76ers are viewed as one of James' top options, along with two of his former teams in the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat.
The Sixers made one of the biggest splashes of the offseason by acquiring Brown from the Boston Celtics in exchange for Paul George and draft picks.
Durant suggested that he believes the 76ers are getting a good one in Brown, noting that Philly is going to be "dangerous" with him in the fold alongside Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe.
Durant added, "Gonna be exciting, happy for him. New fresh start, Philly fans are gonna love him."
When asked if he was as surprised by the trade as most fans when it was first announced, Durant said, "Nah, you can't be stunned, it's the NBA, man. Luka Dončić got traded in the middle of the night."
The Brown trade completely changed the Sixers' outlook heading toward the 2026-27 season, making them one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference.
If they can add LeBron to the mix on top of what they already have, they could very well be the team to beat in the East and the NBA as a whole.
