Collin Sexton Jokes About LeBron James Connection After Signing Lakers Contract
Hundreds of NBA players have had the chance to play with LeBron James over the course of his 23-year career, but Collin Sexton hasn't had much luck in that area.
The Cleveland Cavaliers drafted Sexton in 2018, and James left for the Los Angeles Lakers just days later. This offseason, James departed from the Lakers on June 30, and the next day, Sexton signed a two-year deal with Los Angeles.
"He's just leaving every time I arrive," Sexton joked. "One of the other coaches made the same joke yesterday. I've always wanted to team up with him, for sure."

With James likely nearing his retirement, Sexton might have missed his last opportunity to play with the all-time great.
But he will be on a roster centered around Luka Dončić, which means Sexton could have his best chance to compete for a championship. Sexton has yet to make the playoffs in his eight-year career, but Los Angeles has all the makings of a postseason team, so that streak will likely come to an end this year.
