DeAndre Hopkins Trolls Former Texans Exec in Netflix Documentary TikTok Video Trend
Free-agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins trolled former Houston Texans executive vice president of football operations Jack Easterby as part of the Netflix documentary trend on TikTok.
Hopkins posted a video of himself sitting down on a chair and getting ready to speak with the caption, "Preparing for the Netflix doc on surviving a pastor turned NFL General Manager."
Hopkins spent the first seven seasons of his career in Houston from 2013-19, while Easterby was with the Texans from 2019-22.
Easterby was previously a member of the New England Patriots' organization before joining Houston, starting off as a team chaplain before his role gradually expanded. While assisting with drills and draft evaluations, he also helped orient new players and hold Bible studies as well as religious services (h/t SI.com's Mike D'Abate).
Once Easterby joined the Texans, his shared tenure with Hopkins didn't last long.
Houston traded the receiver, who was coming off his fourth Pro Bowl nod at the time, to the Arizona Cardinals in March 2020.
Easterby reportedly pushed for the Texans to move Hopkins.
Houston struggled following the wideout's departure, compiling a 7-26-1 record across the next two years. Easterby didn't finish the 2022 season, as Houston parted ways with him in Oct. 2022.
