NBA Summer League Top Box Score Stats, Highlights for Lakers' Avila, Carr, Mikel Brown Jr., More

The 2026 NBA Summer League continued with several intriguing matchups in Las Vegas on Friday.

Los Angeles Lakers rookies Robbie Avila and Cameron Carr are set to suit up against the Oklahoma City Thunder, while Brooklyn Nets guard Mikel Brown Jr. competed against the New York Knicks after he was selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2026 draft.

The Heat didn't make a selection in the first round of the 2026 draft, but scooped up Ryan Conwell with the No. 37 overall choice.

Conwell finished with 19 points on Friday, shooting 7-of-16 from the field. He also recorded three assists, one rebound and one block as Miami cruised to the win.

Both of Milwaukee's 2026 lottery picks, Brayden Burries and Nate Ament, suited up against the Heat.

Burries only shot 6-of-15 from the field, but scored a team-high 18 points to go along with three rebounds and three assists.

Ament scored six points on 3-of-7 shooting.

Rienk Mast signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Pacers following the 2026 draft and made a strong impression with his performance on Friday.

Mast scored 16 points and pulled down 11 rebounds while shooting 6-of-12 from the field.

While the Cavs couldn't pull out a win, second-round rookie Meleek Thomas still put together a strong debut.

The No. 34 overall pick in the draft compiled 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal. Thomas shot 7-of-15 from the field, including 2-of-5 from three.

Brown was efficient from all areas of the floor in the Nets' blowout win, scoring 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting while hitting three of his six attempts from behind the arc. He also hit all three of his free throws.

The former Louisville standout made his presence felt on defense as well, picking up two steals and one block.

New York struggled throughout the second half of the game, although Tyler Nickel showcased his long-range accuracy.

The second-round rookie scored 18 points while shooting 6-of-10 on triples.

Bruce Thornton shined in his Summer League debut for the Rockets after they traded up to add him with the No. 31 pick in the 2026 draft.

Thornton scored a game-high 27 points against Denver, shooting 7-of-18 on field goals while going 3-of-8 from three-point territory. He also accumulated three steals.

Bryce Hopkins couldn't give the Nuggets a win, but the No. 49 overall choice in this year's draft still delivered an efficient two-way performance.

Hopkins racked up 24 points, three steals and two blocks while shooting 69.2 percent from the field.

Grizzlies 97, Bulls 96

In a thrilling matchup between the No. 3 choice and the No. 4 choice in the 2026 draft, the Grizzlies came out on top.

Cameron Boozer, the No. 3 overall pick, scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds for Memphis. Boozer shot 7-of-12 overall, hitting his lone three-point attempt of the night.

Despite Chicago's defeat, Caleb Wilson couldn't be stopped offensively. The No. 4 overall selection racked up a game-high 35 points, shooting 12-of-21 from the field and 7-of-11 from behind the arc.

Wilson also ended the game with three blocks and two steals.

Hugo González carved out a role in Boston's rotation as a rookie by impacting the game in several ways, continuing to do so on Friday.

González finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and one steal. He overcame a tough shooting night to help the Celtics emerge victorious, as he connected on just 18.8 percent of his field goals.

Chris Cenac Jr., Boston's 2026 first-round pick, recorded a double-double off the bench. Cenac tallied 14 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks in 29 minutes of action.

He also sent the game to overtime with a corner triple.

Allen Graves, the Raptors' 2026 first-round selection, also shined in the defeat.

Graves scored 22 points, pulled down 13 rebounds, racked up three steals and blocked two shots.

He shot 9-of-16 from the field and 3-of-8 from three.

A busy offseason for the Los Angeles Lakers in which it was confirmed LeBron James wouldn't be returning followed by the acquisition of Walker Kessler overshadowed the draft, but Cameron Carr is doing his best to make a strong impression this summer.

Carr, the No. 24 pick in the 2026 draft, put up 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting in 29 minutes in a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Lakers don't control their first-round pick again until 2032, so Carr's development is going to be a huge storyline for the franchise as they build around Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves.

Another potential contributor who had a nice outing on Friday night was Adou Thiero, who scored a game-high 20 points and had three steals in 20 minutes.

Even though the Thunder offense struggled overall shooting just 41 percent from the field, Bennett Stirtz and Brooks Barnhizer stood out. Stirtz scored 18 points and Barnhizer recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

It was not a strong night for Aday Mara with two points and three turnovers in 25 minutes, but he did grab seven rebounds.

G League veteran Javonte Cooke had a stellar outing with 21 points off the bench to help the Suns overcome a 14-point halftime deficit in a win over the Blazers.

There was good news and bad news for the Suns regarding Khaman Maluach. He put up a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds in 26 minutes, but left in the fourth quarter.

It doesn't sound like Maluach's issue is anything serious because Suns head coach Chaisson Allen said after the game he was experiencing cramps.

The Suns also got a nice effort from Koa Peat, who put up 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting in 28 minutes.

Despite the loss, the Blazers did get a solid performance from 2025 first-round pick Yang Hansen. The 21-year-old had 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists.

DJ Steward, who is looking to make it back to the NBA after playing last season in Italy, shined for the Blazers with 21 points and eight rebounds.
