NBA Summer League 2026 Top Box Score Stats & Highlights for Flemings, Yaxel & More Stars from Day 1

2026 NBA Summer League action in Las Vegas kicked off at the Thomas & Mack Center and Pavilion on Thursday.

The opening day of the event features seven games with notable incoming rookies, including Atlanta Hawks guard Kingston Flemings and Golden State Warriors forward Yaxel Lendeborg, set to compete.

While neither team in the opening matchup of the day made a selection in the first round of the 2026 NBA draft, multiple players still stood out.

Joan Beringer, Minnesota's 2025 first-round pick, looked sharp on both ends of the floor as he prepares to step into a larger role after the Timberwolves parted ways with Julius Randle and Naz Reid.

Beringer finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks while shooting 7-of-15 from the field in 25 minutes on the floor.

Zyon Pullin, who spent time with Minnesota on a two-way contract last season, led the way with 24 points and a game-high 12 assists. Pullin shot 6-of-14 on field goals.

Kobe Bufkin joined the Pelicans' Summer League squad after appearing in 16 contests with the Los Angeles Lakers during his 2025-26 campaign.

Bufkin scored 30 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including 5-of-9 from behind the arc. He also picked up six rebounds and two assists.

Flemings, the No. 8 overall pick in the 2026 draft, helped the Hawks secure a lopsided win over San Antonio.

While he only scored five points and shot 2-of-7 from the field, he dished out a game-high eight assists compared to just one turnover. Flemings also stepped up defensively, amassing one block and one steal.

Atlanta's other 2026 first-round pick, Zuby Ejiofor, finished with 12 points while shooting 2-of-7 from the field.

Tarris Reed Jr. was a bright spot for the Spurs in the loss, as the No. 26 selection in this year's draft recorded a double-double in a mere 21 minutes of action.

Reed scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, connecting on 55.6 percent of his field goals.

Labaron Philon Jr. started off strong for the 76ers, as the No. 22 pick in the 2026 draft scored 11 points in the first quarter.

Philon ended the contest with 18 points, seven assists, three rebounds and one steal. While he only shot 6-of-19 overall, he went 4-of-10 from three-point territory.

Johni Broome was efficient in the win as he prepares for his sophomore season in Philadelphia, tallying 19 points and 13 rebounds while shooting 9-of-18 from the field.

Although the Pistons couldn't secure a win, Ebuka Okorie showed promise in his Summer League debut after he was selected with the No. 17 pick in the 2026 draft.

Okorie scored 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting while connecting on two of his five long-range attempts. He also finished with four assists and two steals.

Lendeborg showcased his all-around impact in the fourth matchup of the day, finishing with 21 points and 10 rebounds to go along with six assists for the Warriors.

The No. 11 pick in the 2026 draft shot 8-of-13 from the field and 2-of-4 from three.

LJ Cryer played on a two-way deal with Golden State last season and served as the team's leading scorer on Thursday, racking up 25 points in 27 minutes. Cryer shot 8-of-14 on field goals while hitting five triples.

Mavericks forward Morez Johnson Jr. thrived as he faced Lendeborg, his former college teammate at Michigan.

Despite Dallas' loss, Johnson scored 27 points on 12-of-17 shooting. The No. 9 choice in this year's draft was also impressive defensively, picking up three steals and blocking two shots.

Liam McNeeley helped the Hornets get off to a 1-0 start, as the 2025 first-round pick was unstoppable offensively.

McNeeley scored 28 points on 9-of-18 shooting, going 7-of-8 from behind the arc. He also handed out four assists.

Hannes Steinbach, the No. 14 overall pick in the 2026 draft, was also a key contributor off the bench. Steinbach ended the game with 15 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal for Charlotte.

Noah Penda appeared in 59 games as a reserve with Orlando last season, but could carve out a larger role in the team's rotation if he continues building momentum following his performance on Thursday.

Penda finished with a team-high 23 points and seven rebounds, hitting five of his 10 long-range attempts. The former second-round pick also blocked three shots while the rest of the Magic combined to record just two blocks.

The matchup between AJ Dybantsa and Darryn Peterson lived up to expectations, as the top two picks in the 2026 draft put on a show.

Dybantsa displayed his athleticism throughout the contest, scoring 27 points and pulling down seven rebounds for Washington. He shot 7-of-13 from inside the arc, but missed all five of his three-point attempts.

The No. 1 pick also made an impact on defense, recording two steals and one block.

As for Peterson, he tallied 24 points, three rebounds, three assists and one block.

The high potential of the No. 2 overall choice was evident, although he also displayed some room for improvement. Peterson only shot 6-of-18 from the field and committed eight turnovers.

The game came down to the wire, as Washington only led 86-85 with just under one minute left in the fourth quarter.

Wizards forward Will Riley scored six consecutive points to seal the final result, though.

Kings 91, Clippers 85

While most of the focus in the Kings-Clippers matchup was on the backcourt battle between Darius Acuff Jr. and Keaton Wagler, it was Sacramento's dominance in the paint that carried the way in a 91-85 victory.

The Kings had a 36-22 advantage on points in the paint, but Acuff made his presence felt 19 points and seven assists in his Summer League debut.

The Kings also got a nice performance from Emanuel Sharp, their second-round pick in the 2026 draft. He put 21 points and four steals off the bench, getting to the free-throw line a game-high eight times.

Sharp's performance garnered high praise from Kings Summer League head coach Chris Darnell.

It wasn't as strong a showing for Wagler in his debut. The No. 5 overall pick was held to seven points on 1-of-7 shooting and was minus-23 in 27 minutes. His lone bucket was a three in the second quarter.

Wagler was up front after the loss that the physicality of the game was something he has to adapt to going forward.

Cam Christie, a 2024 draftee by the Clippers, had 15 points and eight rebounds. Baba Miller, the No. 36 pick this year, showed solid all-around ability with 12 points, five rebounds and three blocks.

The Kings really opened things up in the third quarter, outscoring the Clippers 26-17 to take a 12-point lead going into the final period. They eventually extended the advantage to 16 before the Clippers scored 10 straight points.

Sharp ended the rally with a three that gave Sacramento an 86-77 lead with 3:40 remaining. He scored seven of the Kings' final eight points to preserve the win.
