Kyrie Irving Compared to Picasso by Mavericks' Dusty May in Video After Star's Workout
New Dallas Mavericks head coach Dusty May had high praise for Kyrie Irving after watching the star point guard complete a workout on Thursday.
"I spoke with Kyrie and actually witnessed a workout this morning and I felt like I left the gym watching Picasso paint a picture," May said during an appearance on NBA Today.
"We're excited about Kyrie," he added.

Irving's artistry with the ball in his hands is well known, as he's used his impressive handle to establish himself among the NBA's top point guards when healthy.
He's racked up nine All-Star nods, three All-NBA selections and one championship throughout his career.
While Irving was sidelined for the 2025-26 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL, he averaged 24.7 points and 4.6 assists per game on 47.3/40.1/91.6 shooting splits during his 2024-25 campaign.
The 34-year-old was involved in trade rumors earlier this offseason, as he doesn't fit the exact timeline of a Mavericks squad looking to build around 2026 Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg.
May seems to be looking forward to coaching Irving in his first year with Dallas after the former Michigan head coach was recently hired by the Mavericks, though.
