LeBron's Wife Savannah Calls Out Critics Making Careers Talking About NBA Icon in New Video

Mike ChiariJul 9, 2026

Savannah James, the wife of NBA legend LeBron James, spoke out this week about those who make a living off speaking negatively about her husband.

During a conversation with co-host April McDaniel on her Everybody's Crazy podcast (beginning at the 29:55 mark), Savannah gave her thoughts on those who speak critically of LeBron for their own relevancy (h/t Madison E. Goldberg of People).

"It's crazy," Savannah said. "People have definitely made careers out of talking about [LeBron]. ... Like … [critics having] a subjective opinion about what everybody thinks is the best thing. But to be on the other side of it, it's like, 'No, it's not.' They make careers out of that."

LeBron, 41, is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in NBA history. He is a 22-time All-Star and four-time NBA MVP, NBA champion and NBA Finals MVP, in addition to being the league's all-time leading scorer.

James has led each of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers to championships, and he spent the past eight seasons in L.A., which was his longest continuous stint with one team during his career.

However, last month, LeBron made the somewhat surprising decision to leave the Lakers and spend what could be his final NBA season elsewhere:

James is now a free agent, and he has his pick between multiple suitors as he attempts to chase a fifth championship to close out his illustrious career.

As expected, pundits have made their feelings known about LeBron's decision, but that is nothing new.

He left the Cavs for the Heat in 2010, the Heat for the Cavs in 2014 and the Cavs for the Lakers in 2018, and each time James dealt with some level of criticism.

Regardless of where LeBron decides to play during the 2026-27 season or what his motivations are, criticism is likely something he will have to deal with once again.
