Jaylen Brown Reacts to Celtics-76ers Blockbuster Trade in New Video, 'It's Weird'
The NBA world was stunned when the Boston Celtics traded Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers, a division rival that knocked them out of the playoffs last season.
Brown was equally confused by the trade.
"It's still weird now," Brown said. "My brain is like, Philly? Of all places… like why would you do that?"

The haul Boston received for Brown was hardly impressive, as it included 36-year-old Paul George and a handful of picks. The Celtics had previously been engaged in trade talks for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Considering Brown had a career year in 2025-26, putting up 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists, it's hard to fathom why Boston would trade him to a team it could end up facing in the playoffs.
Brad Stevens said Monday that it was a financial decision.
"The path looked a little bit more challenging with 70 percent of our cap and such a high percent of our usage tied into two players," he said.
Even if the trade was a money-saving move, it's going to take NBA fans a while to process the Celtics' decision to trade Jayson Tatum's co-star.
