Meek Mill Welcomes Jaylen Brown to 76ers in Post After Celtics Trade, Hopes to Meet NBA Star
Meek Mill welcomed Jaylen Brown to his hometown Philadelphia 76ers after the Boston Celtics agreed to trade him there on Wednesday.
Brown was traded for Paul George and four draft picks (two first-rounders and two second-rounders).
Meek Mill has every right to be excited about seeing Brown roll into town. Brown just averaged 28.7 points on 47.7 percent shooting, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists in his 10th NBA season en route to All-NBA Second Team honors.
He joins a loaded starting lineup that currently included Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, who led the 76ers to the Eastern Conference semifinals last season.
One can guess the 76ers will be right back in the playoff mix in Friday, to the point where they should be considered a strong Eastern Conference contender.
Free agent star LeBron James is even considering joining the 76ers for his 24th NBA season, per his agent, Klutch Sports Founder and CEO Rich Paul on the "Game Over" podcast with Max Kellerman.
"Philadelphia, everything changed," Paul said. "How could you not have [his] attention when you have [Tyrese] Maxey, [V.J.] Edgecombe, Brown and [Joel] Embiid?
"He loves Maxey, so we don't even have to talk about that. I think V.J., he helps V.J. understand really how to play the game.
"Obviously, Jaylen Brown," he said. "Embiid is health and habits. The health and habits of Embiid are there.
"[James] enhances everything there. He unlocks everything there."
We'll see if James joins the 76ers, but we know Brown will, and that has Meek Mill's attention as his team looks for its fourth NBA title.
