Gilgeous-Alexander previously represented Canada at the 2024 Paris Olympics, although the team was eliminated in the quarterfinals. He averaged 21.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game during the event.
The 27-year-old is coming off a stellar 2025-26 campaign in Oklahoma City, winning his second consecutive MVP award to go along with Clutch Player of the Year honors.
Gilgeous-Alexander recorded 31.1 points and 6.6 assists per game during the regular season, shooting 55.3 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from three-point territory.
With his latest NBA season in the rearview mirror, he's now joining a Canada squad that has already started its FIBA World Cup qualifying campaign on a high note.
Canada sits atop the Group B standings with a 4-0 record.
