New Warriors Rumors Reveal Rui Hachimura Interest amid LeBron James Links After Lakers Exit
The Golden State Warriors have been in contact with Rui Hachimura's representatives in free agency, according to NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer.
Hachimura isn't the only former Los Angeles Lakers forward that the Warriors are reportedly interested in, as Golden State has been linked to LeBron James since he informed the Lakers that he plans to play elsewhere next season.
Per Stein and Fischer, the Minnesota Timberwolves have also talked with Hachimura and the team views him as its "current top choice" at the power forward position.
The 28-year-old is coming off an efficient 2025-26 campaign, averaging 11.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. He shot 51.4 percent from the field and 44.3 percent from three-point territory.
Hachimura thrived in a larger role during the Lakers' 2026 playoff run after Luka Donฤiฤ was sidelined with a hamstring injury, averaging 17.5 points per game while connecting on 54.9 percent of his field goals and 56.9 percent of his triples.
He's an intriguing option for a Warriors squad searching for more offensive firepower alongside Stephen Curry, especially if James doesn't end up joining Golden State.
