Jayson Tatum's 2012 Tweet About Celtics Resurfaces, Goes Viral After Jaylen Brown Trade to 76ers
Jayson Tatum predicted the future of the Boston Celtics 14 years ago.
After the Celtics traded Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, an old Tweet of Tatum's went viral.
"Not looking good for the Celtics right now," a much younger Tatum posted.
That is likely the sentiment of many Celtics fans following the deal.
In return for the former Finals MVP, Boston received Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round picks. Time will tell who the true winner of the trade was, but Philadelphia seems to be the initial winner.
Brown just had a career season and is still in his prime, whereas George is 36 years old and has been declining for years. Considering the Celtics were trying to get Giannis Antetokounmpo just over a week ago, settling for George is quite the downgrade.
Boston's front office might have more up its sleeve this offseason, but it's hard to imagine the Celtics will be a championship-level team next season.
