DeAndre Jordan Responds to Fan Who Criticized His Pelicans Contract in NBA Free Agency

Scott PolacekJun 30, 2026

DeAndre Jordan is no longer at the peak of his career, and one fan wasn't thrilled the New Orleans Pelicans are bringing him back.

And Jordan wasn't thrilled with that fan.

After NBA insider Chris Haynes reported Tuesday that New Orleans was re-signing Jordan for his 19th season in the league, one fan took to social media to express displeasure. That drew an amusing response from the big man himself:

Yes, New Orleans isn't getting the dominant version of Jordan who was once one of the best big men in the league with the Los Angeles Clippers. He appeared in just 12 games last season and averaged 4.4 points a night.

That was a far cry from when he was a three-time All-NBA selection and two-time rebounding champion who finished in the top five of Defensive Player of the Year voting three different times with the Clippers.

Still, a minor move like adding Jordan likely won't preclude the Pelicans from making more meaningful additions to bolster their chances in the Western Conference.

Not that the one fan wants to hear it.
