Raptors' Updated 2027 NBA Title Odds After Reported Kawhi Leonard Trade with Clippers
The Toronto Raptors' updated 2027 championship odds were revealed after reportedly agreeing to acquire star forward Kawhi Leonard in a blockbuster trade with the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Raptors own the fifth-best odds to win the 2027 NBA Finals at +2200.
Toronto is nearing a deal to acquire Leonard from the Clippers in exchange for forward Brandon Ingram, guard Gradey Dick, two first-round picks, two second-round selections and one pick swap, per ESPN's Shams Charania.
Charania also reported that both teams engaged in trade talks regarding Leonard "over the last couple of weeks," as his representatives informed other front offices that the Raptors were the only organization he wanted to sign an extension with.
The seven-time All-Star previously suited up for Toronto during the 2018-19 season, leading the team to its first championship victory by defeating the Golden State Warriors in the 2019 Finals.
Leonard averaged 30.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game on 49.0/37.9/88.4 shooting splits in the playoffs that year, ultimately earning Finals MVP honors.
While he's now 35 years old, he's coming off an impressive 2025-26 campaign on the Clippers.
In 65 games, Leonard recorded a career-high 27.9 points to go along with 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game. He shot 50.5 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from three-point territory.
Meanwhile, the Raptors finished with a 46-36 record last season to clinch their first playoff appearance since 2022.
Although Toronto lost in the first round, it still boasts an intriguing collection of talent headlined by star forward Scottie Barnes. Fellow starters RJ Barrett, Jakob Poeltl and Immanuel Quickley have 65 combined games of playoff experience.
With Leonard in the mix, it isn't hard to imagine the Raptors establishing themselves as championship contenders throughout the 2026-27 season.
