NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer previously reported that Hardaway was among the players expected to receive "priority" interest from the Heat this offseason.
In his lone season in Denver, Hardaway played in 80 games and averaged 13.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting a career-high 40.6 percent from three-point range. The Nuggets finished the season with a 54-28 record before being eliminated from the playoffs in the first round. He played in all six of the team's postseason games against the Minnesota Timberwolves and averaged 10.8 points and 3.3 rebounds.
The Heat will be the sixth team of Hardaway's career. Before joining the Nuggets, he also suited up for the Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks. The 34-year-old is the son of Basketball Hall of Famer Tim Hardaway.
Miami is coming off a 43-39 finish to the 2025-26 campaign and lost to the Charlotte Hornets in the play-in tournament. Signing Hardaway gives the Heat a reliable veteran off the bench as they try to contend for a playoff spot next season.
