Knueppel is considered by 247Sports' composite rankings to be the No. 52 overall player and the No. 4 power forward in his class. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native also holds offers from Purdue, Wisconsin, Arkansas and more.
According to ESPN's Jeff Borzello, Knueppel averaged 16.5 points per game on the EYBL circuit, shooting 50.7 percent from deep on seven attempts per game.
Knueppel is the first commitment for the Blue Devils for the class of 2027, but there are likely plenty more to follow. Duke boasted the No. 2 overall 2026 recruiting class with three 5-stars and a pair of 4-stars.
The Blue Devils appear to be on the right track under head coach Jon Scheyer, who took over for the legendary Mike Krzyzewski in 2022. Duke has reached three consecutive Elite Eights and made a Final Four in 2025.
Kon, the oldest of five siblings, starred in his one season at Duke in 2024-25, putting up 14.4 points per game while shooting 40.6 percent from deep.
He was the fourth overall pick in last year's NBA draft and made a strong case for Rookie of the Year as he averaged 18.5 points per game on 42.5 percent from deep, setting the record for threes in a single season by a rookie. He came up short in the Rookie of the Year race to his former teammate Cooper Flagg.
Kager clearly has a good mentor in his older brother, and he'll look to repeat Kon's success at Duke.
