Latest Nets Rumors on Lakers, Knicks, Cavs Free Agency Targets After Julius Randle Trade

Zach BacharJun 27, 2026

The Brooklyn Nets are expected to have interest in several players once free agency begins.

According to NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer, the Nets are viewed as potential suitors for Cleveland Cavaliers guard Keon Ellis, New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson and Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura as free agents.

The San Antonio Spurs also have interest in signing Hachimura, per Stein and Fischer.

Brooklyn has already been busy this offseason, reportedly acquiring three-time All-Star Julius Randle as part of a three-team trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Chicago Bulls on Monday.

Stein and Fischer noted that the Nets can operate with over $40 million in cap space if they choose to sign free agents before finalizing the three-team swap to add Randle.

Ellis is an intriguing option for Brooklyn, as he's familiar with head coach Jordi Fernández due to their shared tenure with the Sacramento Kings organization from 2022-24.

He averaged 6.7 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 44.0 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from three-point territory last season.

Hachimura has been an efficient offensive option throughout his tenure on the Lakers and it isn't hard to imagine his scoring output increasing with a larger role in Brooklyn.

During his 2025-26 campaign, he recorded 11.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game on 51.4/44.3/69.4 shooting splits.

As for Robinson, his offensive rebounding and rim protection would be valuable for a Nets squad looking to improve upon a 20-62 finish.

He averaged 5.7 points and 8.8 rebounds in 19.6 minutes per game throughout last season, shooting 72.3 percent from the field. Robinson also recorded 1.2 blocks on a nightly basis.
