Mitchell started his collegiate career at Texas, went to Cincinnati and then played his final season at St. John's. He made the most of his one season with the Red Storm and helped lead them to a Big East regular-season and tournament title, as well as a Sweet 16 appearance.
He was also an All-Big East Third Team selection.
Here is a look at some of his highlights.

Scouting Report
B/R's Jonathan Wasserman listed Derrick Jones Jr. as a pro comparison for Mitchell.
"Like Derrick Jones Jr., Mitchell is an explosive leaper who thrives as a finisher, lob target and multi-positional defender," Wasserman wrote. "His NBA value will largely depend on whether his jumper develops enough to keep defenses honest."
Wasserman highlighted transition scoring, defensive versatility and passing as his three strengths while also pointing out creating his own shot and outside shooting are weaknesses he can improve at the NBA level.
Mitchell's best chance at earning early playing time next season is by making an impact on the defensive side of the ball. He was a Big East All-Defense selection in his one year with St. John's and averaged a combined 2.0 steals and blocks per game.
He also averaged 8.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists a night while shooting 55.9 percent from the field, although he was not a threat from three-point range.
If he can develop a more consistent offensive shot, he could be a dangerous playmaker for Boston.
