Jaylen Brown's Celtics Future Addressed By Brad Stevens Amid NBA Trade Rumors After Giannis to Heat
Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens discussed star Jaylen Brown's future with the organization after the first round of the 2026 NBA draft came to an end on Tuesday night.
"Jaylen Brown is a big part of us," Stevens said, per Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. "I don't want to predict the future. I look at it as this is our team."
Stevens also told reporters the two sides had "really good, candid conversations" about Brown's inclusion in trade talks.

"I would say you would have to ask him," Stevens said when asked about Brown's relationship with the organization.
ESPN's Shams Charania previously reported that the Celtics offered Brown and two first-round picks to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Giannis Antetokounmpo, but Milwaukee didn't accept the package.
Instead, the Bucks reportedly traded Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat.
Milwaukee received Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, three first-round picks, one pick swap and one second-round selection from Miami in the deal.
Boston also listened to offers for Brown from other teams after negotiations with the Bucks were unsuccessful, per Charania.
"Boston was the other finalist for Giannis before Miami got him," Charania reported Tuesday. "They wanted Giannis in Boston, but now they deal with the fallout. There are going to be more conversations there that they're going to have. The Celtics have been aggressive also today, in taking calls, in making calls, listening in on potential offers for Jaylen Brown. So what's his future?"
Brown is coming off a 2025-26 season in which he stepped up as the Celtics' No. 1 option on offense as Jayson Tatum spent the majority of the year recovering from a torn Achilles.
In 71 games, Brown averaged a career-high 28.7 points and 5.1 assists per game on 47.7/34.7/79.5 shooting splits. He earned an All-NBA Second Team selection and finished No. 6 in MVP voting.
