New Heat Rumors on Potential Trade Chip to Help Giannis, Adebayo After Blockbuster Deal

The Miami Heat could reportedly look to trade forward Nikola Jović to acquire more shooting help, per NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer.

"It has also been suggested that Miami could look now to move Nikola Jović to try to acquire some shooting to help space the floor for Antetokounmpo and his new frontcourt sidekick Bam Adebayo."

ESPN's Shams Charania broke news of the two-time NBA MVP heading to Miami on Monday evening.

Miami needs more shooting after the trade.

Guard Tyler Herro, who has averaged 19.5 points per game and shot 38.2 percent from three over his seven-year career, is headed to Milwaukee.

The same goes for guard Kasparas Jakučionis, Miami's first-round pick in 2025, who shot 42.3 percent from three over his 17.8 minutes per game last year.

Losing Jaime Jaquez Jr. could hurt from the outside as well. The Sixth Man of the Year runner-up shot 41.4 percent from three over his last 19 regular season games. The two-year pro is a 31.7 percent lifetime three-point shooter but could certainly improve in that realm soon enough.

Of course, bringing Antetokounmpo to Miami gives the team one of the best scorers in the league. From 2018-19 to the present date, Antetokounmpo has averaged 29.4 points per game. He and Bam Adebayo will form a problematic one-two punch for the rest of the league.

The issue is how the Heat will build out the rest of the roster now, especially with a host of draft picks going to Milwaukee. Still, it's a great foundation for the Heat to build off as they move into a new era.
