Part of that probably has to do with money, as the 30-year-old Kuzma is set to make $19.4 million this season. That's not a terrible outlay for a player who put up 13 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists last season, shooting 34.7 percent from three last season, but if the Bucks are going to rebuild after trading Giannis, they may prefer to bring aboard more youth.
Another factor to consider, however, is that Kuzma is an expiring contract, so in either event he'll probably be moving on after the 2026-27 season. And including him in a Giannis deal would mean the Bucks would have to take back an enormous amount of salary.
That doesn't mean he won't be traded. It does mean if he's moved, it will be a bit more complicated than simply being a "throw-in."
