Knicks' Mitchell Robinson Says He'd Beat Jalen Brunson 1-on-1 if Playing As 'Summertime Mitch'
You've heard of Hoodie Melo. But are you acquainted with... Summertime Mitch?
According to Mitchell Robinson, he has a summertime alter ego who is the sort of baller who would take down Jalen Brunson in a one-on-one matchup:
If Robinson's plan on the offensive end in this 1v1 is to take Brunson down on the block, OK, we can see him getting some buckets. If he's trying to take Brunson off the dribble or pull up from the perimeter, however, the 29.3 percent he just shot from the free-throw line during the playoffs makes it hard to believe he'd have success going that route.
And just about everybody struggles to stop Brunson from scoring, let alone a big man dragged out to the perimeter.
So while there's little question that Robinson has more game than he's allowed to showcase in his specific role with the Knicks—all NBA players have a hooping gear that most people simply will never understand—saying he would cook Brunson one-on-one is pretty hard to envision.
