Josh Hart Appears to Shade Becky Hammon for Jalen Brunson Comments in Video After Knicks' Title Win
Josh Hart seemingly is seemingly still waiting for Las Vegas Aces coach and WNBA legend Becky Hammon to take back her criticism of Jalen Brunson after watching him power the New York Knicks to the 2026 NBA championship.
"I'm not naming names— I'm still waiting for somebody to say they was wrong about someone who led our team to a Final, championship... I'm still waiting for something," Hart said around the 15:45 mark of Friday's episode of the Roommates Show.
"I know they have media availability, so we'll be waiting for that apology."
Hammon originally said in a December 2023 appearance on ESPN's NBA Today she felt Brunson's size would prevent him from leading the Knicks to a title.
When asked about those remarks after the Knicks swept the Eastern Conference Finals in May, Hammon answered: "I said what I said. If he proves me wrong, he proves me wrong."
She added that Brunson was "a hell of a player," but expressed doubt based on NBA history that a 6-foot-2 guard could serve as the top player on a championship team.
Brunson, who was later named NBA Finals MVP, told reporters after the Knicks' title win that he wasn't interested in responding to people who doubted he could lead his team to a title.
It sounds like Hammon's comments could once more be a topic of discussion at future media opportunities for the Aces.
Hammon's team, which sits second in the Western Conference after an 11-4 start to the WNBA season, returns to action Sunday with an afternoon game against the visiting Golden State Valkyries.
